Elephant/Hoofstock Keepers - Howletts Wild Animal Park

Animal Keeper (Salary depending on experience)

Howletts Wild Animal Park situated in the south of Kent near Canterbury has two fixed term contract vacancies available to provide maternity cover for two keepers; one for immediate start and the other to begin from early October. Initially contracts will run for six months, one or both may be renewable, or even become permanent there after, depending on circumstances.

Both positions will be based on the elephant / hoof stock sections and ideally candidates should have experience within a main stream animal collection working with large ungulates and elephants. Previous animal keeping experience is essential for the role as is a full valid driving licence. You must be physically fit and in good health as the job is very physically demanding.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a proven track record of working well as part of a close-knit team. Good communication skills, a flexible approach to working hours and a genuine enthusiasm for Elephant conservation is also important.

Working 40 hours a week worked over five days including weekends.
