Yorkshire Wildlife Park - Animal Department Supervisor



Due to the expansion of the animal collection at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, a new senior position has been created as a second Animal Supervisor in the Animal Department.

Reporting directly to the Director of the Animal Department, the postholder will work jointly with the current Animal Department Supervisor to provide leadership and development for the animal team and develop the husbandry, welfare and conservation knowledge of the department as the animal collection increases.

-The successful applicant will have several years experience in a senior position in a UK collection

-Minimum qualification level of National Diploma in Zoo Animal Management

-Primate and hoofstock experience would be especially relevant

-Record keeping, Arks/Zims experience

-Protocol and systems development

-Firearms experience (not essential)

-A demonstrated history of leadership skills

-Understanding and commitment to the visitor experience

-Enthusiasm and drive to support the ongoing development and implementation of the animal collection plan
